Issue 4:
ALICE ARNOLD
once alice stepped into the legendary nightclub the sound factory, nothing was the same. it was 1990. she had come to new york as a young photographer, and she instantly realized that this would be her subject: dancers, club kids, all the young people of the night. in a time before any one of us could fastidiously document our lives, she was on the edges of the dancefloor, capturing a culture coming into focus for paper magazine, shining a light on djs, dancers, and parties, as well as those unaccustomed to posing or being seen, all these little pockets of friends hanging out, sharing dreams, and whispering in one another’s ears.
